Klein Curacao, Dutch Caribbean Wednesday, May 17th 2006
Windguru is giving us some positive wind indication for this week. Since the windsurfing school is in good hands, we round up some friends for a 2 day expedition to Klein Curacao. Our expedition team consists of Sander, Oscar, Sergey, Hilde and myself, together with freestyle-boards, wave-boards, surfboards, fishing gear and all the accessories. To do this trip we took a general day-trip with Miss Ann boattrips and arranged a private charter back. When we arrived on Klein it appeared that the wind was very light, so we set up camp and made ourselves comfortable. In the evening the wind picked up just enough to have a good freestyle session and we hoped tomorrow would give us some more wind or swell. Night fell fast and without the artificial lights on Curacao, you could just gaze at the sky and see thousands of stars, signs and the milky way. It's an awesome feeling to be on an island not bigger than half a mile wide and about a mile long, alone with friends under this beautiful sky. The wind kicked in at night and we slept our boardbags and hoped for tomorrow.
